Reggae in the Gardens
April 22 @ 9:30 am - 5:00 pm$12
Once again, we are bringing the Island Style to the Gardens – featuring Chillakaya!
We are excited to announce a day of “Reggaeton Fun” in the botanical garden paradise for the whole family. We have invited our friends Chillakaya back for their great sound and vibe, and we are excited to bring the island beats to help the community unite with music.
Chillakaya brings the perfect fusion of upbeat dancehall and island style music.
The musicians in the group:
Kemwa Z is the lead vocalist, bass player, and founder of the band. He grew up in the town Old Road on the beautiful island of Antigua. It was there where he was heavily influenced by the culture of the country for reggae music. Lia De is their manager and keyboardist, and she brings her talent from New York where she trained to be a professional dancer. However, on a change of paths she found that she loved playing live music. She now shares her love of dance with the music she plays in the band. The master of the beat is on the drums. He plays the drums with “A pocket style that creates a heartfelt flow that locks in with the bass smoothly.”
